These are things I have come to learn through playing Eve. I encourage others to ask questions, add comments, and add what they have learned.
1. Most important of all, Eve is a Game. If you are scammed, pirated, make 100bil isk, its just a game, dont get upset about it, dont cry about it, learn from it.
2. Customer Service is more important than price. Does this mean you can charge 10 times somone else, NO. But it does mean if you offer good customer service, and you take care of those that order from you, you will be taken care of. This is the main reason PCT has done what it has today.
3. NPC Goods - It does work to place a buy order for NPC goods and let that buy order gather until you have enough of that good to move it with a freighter. Then you place a sell order in a station buying it, and the NPC's will auto buy it from you when it hits that price. I verified this myself. It does take about 3 days to reset the prices vs the 1 day it used to take.
4. If you have quesitons, or dont understand somthing ask. Same thing you get taught in school applies here. Ask in the forums, ask in the channels. You may get flamed, laughed at what ever. But you will probably get your answer as well.
5. No matter what you do for the Eve community, no matter how great you think you are, others will still try to destroy what you have done, and try to destroy your reputation. The key is to not falling into this trap, not always easy to do.
6. If your going to stock a station / region / system with goods to sell, make sure A) its a very busy system already or B) supply not only the ships or not only the mods, supply both. I know I am lazy in Eve and many others are as well, if I can go 1 jump and get everything I need even at a higher cost I will do it vice traveling to Jita.
7. Per 6. When stocking stations think about what you use to pvp with, what you use to npc and mission run with. These are the things you want to stock, if you use them, most likely many others do as well. If you dont know, look at some killboards from major corps or alliances. These will typically be a great way to learn what they use and what you should be selling.
8. Per 6/7. Dont underestimate T1. A lot of t1 modules sell non stop for 200-300% markup. Look at what people are using. Same goes for named T1 modules. A lot of these are better than or if not just as good as a T2 module. They are typially way underpriced, but sell very well in high concentrated areas like Jita.
9. This is somthing some may disagree with, but if your doing a Labatory Research, or Freighter Runs, dont have a set price. Why??? If you have a set price your compitition knows your price and now can undercut you all day long. Have an idea of what you want yoru set price to be but never share it. Always have people convo you, Eve mail you and ask for a price.
